Billie Jean King - FAILURE! - 01 octobre 2015 On March 31, 2014 I sent Ms. King a copy of her book BILLIE JEAN at World Team Tennis (WTT) at the address listed in this website along with a fan letter and return postage and self addressed return mailing label - asking if she would please sign the book and return to me.
When about 13 months went by without a response, I wrote WTT and inquired on the status. I received a hand written card from her office manager stating they still had my book, but it is often many months before Ms. King signs requests and to please be patient.
Today, October 1, 2015, over 18 months after I sent the book it was returned to me UNSIGNED. There was a post-it on the cover where someone wrote "You already got a signed book - one to a fan."
Please note that I have NEVER, EVER written Ms. King prior to this instance in my life and certainly NEVER, EVER received a signed book-or anything else from her for that matter!
To say I am disappointed is an understatement. At first, I thought I would write WTT and plead my case to them, and ask if I could please return the book for signature a second time but I feel it is simply not worth the time, money or effort to do so. :-(
I hope someone has better luck than I did. |

Billie Jean King success - 20 juin 2011 Mailed to tennis legend Billie Jean King April 11, 2011 at WORLD TEAM TENNIS /1776 BROADWAY
SUITE 600 / NEW YORK, NY 10019. Included B/W 8x10 photo & SASE.
Rcv'd June 20, 2011 in my SASE (SASE had 17 JUN Morgan P&DC postmark) my signed and inscribed photo. I am very pleased with this one, Ms. King has long been an idol of mine and I don't know why I put off writing to her for so long.
Note: I neglected to write "photo do not bend" on SASE and letter carrier folded / bent the envelope to fit it in my box. The good news is that the bend / fold appears to be minor and there does not seem to be any permanent damage. |
